Pros
Really awesome team. Caliber of consultants is the best out there (though can be a little McKinsey-heavy at times). In addition to being crazy smart and client-oriented, they're also "people people" by definition - so a more well-rounded, caring, balanced, higher EQ bunch than typical high-performing consultants. The staff is awesome, too. And the clients are great - same types served by the Bain/BCG/McKinsey's of the world, plus smaller and up-and-coming clients that the Big 3 business model can't flex as well to serve. While the firm has been around 20+ years and isn't going anywhere, it still feels entrepreneurial. We talk a lot about "freedom and flexibility" and you really do see it everywhere - free market staffing (no one tells you what to do or where to go, you decide), live/work anywhere in the US (and in several locations globally), comp is flexible and pegged to amount of work you do (so, work less make less, work more make more) - lets you choose your pace and how you want to structure your life. Working from home takes some getting used to but the flexibility is awesome. Really an awesome place to work; so glad I made the leap!
Cons
The downside of the more entrepreneurial feel is less leverage/support than you are likely used to (you'll have a great Executive Assistant but no teams of analysts running around (our focus really is C-suite, so all of our consultants are much more tenured/experienced, even our new hires), no overnight document production...stuff like that. All totally worth the upside, though.
