Pros

The team is among the most talented and fun group of people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The work we do for our clients is incredibly fulfilling. Helping leaders amplify their positive impact on the world is about as good as it gets. We make an impact every day. The flexibility to "choose your own adventure" and do the kind of work you like best is a breath of fresh air.

Cons

Like any professional services firm, workloads can ebb and flow from time to time. Balance is pretty good, but could always be better.

Pros

Truly smart and talented colleagues to work with and learn from on interesting and challenging client work.

Cons

You need to be self-sufficient, resilient and good at managing yourself, otherwise the work can become a little over-whelming. The work can also be narrow if you don’t try and expand it yourself.

Pros

Engaging work, mostly talented colleagues, and attractive compensation. The freedom and flexibility genuinely work.

Cons

The culture falls far short of what’s promised. Within the European team, a toxic dynamic, largely driven by the partner group, has taken hold. Gossip, backstabbing, favoritism, and personal biases run deep. Partners shy away from giving open, honest feedback, instead choosing to badmouth individuals privately to select consultants. Some consultants regularly spread subtle rumors about teammates, and rather than stopping it, partners not only allow it, they reward it. As a result, a small “inner circle” gets consistent preferential treatment on projects, even when they lack the necessary skills. Meanwhile, others put in extraordinary effort with little recognition. It’s deeply disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you’ve found the work engaging and the flexibility real, and have seen the opportunity to work with talented colleagues. We’ve of course also noted, with concern, the issues you’ve raised, as the dynamics described do not in any way reflect our intended company culture - as you point out. It disappoints us to see that even one person would feel this way. We take this feedback seriously and will double down our focus to better understand how we can continue to strengthen team dynamics and reinforce the values that matter most—trust, fairness, and inclusiveness for all. We believe strong leadership is not only about results, but also about creating an environment where everyone can do their best work and grow. As you know, we encourage people to raise concerns and share feedback, and if you’re not getting the support you need, please feel free to contact your mentor, our PD team, a partner, or another member of the OT. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and continued contributions to the firm. - Barney Hamilton, Chief People Officer
