There can be some down time. If no new contracts are coming in, there can be a lot of standing around. The winter is the worst part of the year, as the company will slow down immensely. This time has in the past been characterized by mass layoffs. It is damaging to morale when this happens, making everyone tense and on guard. That said, this is not often the tone of the office, but if it happens, it effects everyone.
The compensation is lacking to say the least. Granted that this is a job that will take people with little or no prior experience, they do not reward good work with pay raises. The scale ends before it really begins. They pay about 1/3 of the average salary for the same positions. This is a certain draw back.
The last thing that I will say is that they are not particularly focused on developing skilled and competent employees. There is absolutely no automation experience to be gained from this company. This will make your experience less than half as good when looking for a job. The skills you may develop are not from management desiring your growth, they seem to be born of laziness. Your manager doesn't want to do something so the responsibility falls to you and it's trial by fire. If that suits you, then this is not a con, but It should be considered.
