I always knew what they were like. It started in1980 when Lowrey hired me during a station acquisition. It saddened me upon his passing. Over the next thirty years, my involvement came and went. After having a career of consistent winning with number one market contenders, I found myself in their employ in a market with near 70% billing dominance. After many years of exemplary work, I found no gratitude, no acknowledgement of 80 hr a week sacrifices, nothing but infighting and insults upon my retirement. Hell, I was nearly killed on duty when their tower fell from neglect. Only one person expressed concerns, when everyone else just wanted to know when it would be back on. Definitely beware, even if your tenure stacks up against any of their best.

I felt like I needed to put in long hours to make deadlines, and still felt stressed from the time I woke up till I went back to bed. It was the most stressful position I've had, I quit in Oct. 2021 after 7 months, and I can only now think/talk about working in this position without tearing up. The stress did me, and several others in my team in, in my short time there. I hope it's gotten better.
