Pros

I've made close friends during my time there, back when the office environment allowed everyone to be more social. A great stepping stone to get some good pieces in your portfolio and then leave.

Cons

TOXIC FOR WOMEN: The entire 5 years I've been at iHeart, not a single female has been promoted within my team. I have also experienced sexism in this office. It's been so disheartening and surprising how often I've seen hardworking, passionate, ambitious women overlooked again and again while their lesser male counterparts are constantly promoted. Most of the people who quit are women. NO RAISES: Don't expect to advance at iHeart. People are hardly ever given a raise and if you do get a raise because of a promotion (also rare especially if you're a woman), you get nickels. I haven't received a raise the entire time I was there. I begged for a cost of living raise and was refused. I asked for anything, even 1 extra vacation day, just for any indication that they valued me as employee and they still refused. UNHEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENT: The office environment is not supportive or trusting. We have been told that upper management doesn't like when enough of us aren't at our desks. So while the entire office may be out early for a holiday, our team has to stay put. It's frowned upon if you leave the office at 6pm. I also had so many sick days accumulated because I was never sick so when I had to use one, it somehow became an issue with management, NOT because of work, but because management has issues with power and control.

Pros

The staff and peers are great. The company used to be great before COVID. Multiple food trucks, office events, etc. Great work life balance.

Cons

When you get hired, there are no raises, ever. Not even cost of living raises. You hit your ceiling day one. PTO is given annually up front. This means you don't earn it over time, so if you leave the company, you don't get that time off as money. You lose it. And if you don't use it for the year, it doesn't roll over. Company is in a financial crisis and has been laying people off since February. They have been doing it in small groups over time so that it doesn't hit the news. Senior leadership are a bunch of crooks. Out of the 4 years I was there, only 1 bonus was paid out. The other years they didn't pay because of COVID or the economy. Also, they stopped matching their 5% 401k matching all through COVID. Brought it back for a few months, then turned it back off again because of their negative financial situation. Toxic leadership.

Pros

- Recognizable company name on a resume - Good health benefits - Consistent hours/schedule - Nice WFH equipment provided

Cons

- The pay is below market value and you will constantly be praised for your work without actually receiving the additional compensation. Also, recently found out that a female coworker with more work experience and time in the company than a male coworker was not provided a raise when moving up to a higher team despite the male coworker receiving one for the same team move. Management frequently picks and chooses who gets what perks without any rhyme or reason. - No additional concert perks, not even to iHeart events - Rarely any ability to move into other departments other than if you want to solely work for commission as an Account Executive - Recently laid off a lot of people and caused insecurity among employees.
