Pros

Before you are hired you take the "Strengths Finder" test, it is very helpful in determining your strengths. The training is very extensive. The work atmosphere is fun for anyone in their 30's.

Cons

There is way too much time spent in meetings, about an hour a day. I felt like I spent the whole day talking about what we were going to do and then we had to find time to generate reports about what we were going to do and never had time to get any thing accomplished, other than talking about what we should do. All lead generation was done on the phone, no opportunities for face to face networking.

Pros

Good clusters to sell, and having multiple products was a plus. Benefits were pretty good, and matching company 401k. Depending on account list, income can be decent.

Cons

Management changes meant the overall environment changed to more of a churn and burn. Management plays favoritism and if you are a favorite, then good for you, you will obtain a great account list and can do no wrong. If you are not, then you will struggle building your own list in a very fragmented medium that continues to get harder with people having so many options for music that is commercial free - MP3's, CD's, internet radio and the list goes on... Plan on long days and a lot of stress, including micro management if you are to succeed, and then sometimes even that is not enough. The industry has lost a lot of good people, and the majority are not making the 6 figures that they used to since young college grads will come do the job for 30 or 40 grand. Seniority and business acumen are not valued as they used to be.

Pros

Great environment to foster passion and love for your career. Great pay once you reach a contract that allows for ratings bonus, and client sponsorship. Celebrity/artist interaction.

Cons

Treated as a commodity and very expendable. Absolutely no job security, even when market is good. "There's always someone else that will do what you can do for cheaper money."
