Don't Get Comfortable

Pros

The work is easy, and the pay isn't too bad. Depending on what you do, the work/life balance is great. Occasional opportunities to travel and attend events.

Cons

They don't really care about their employees. I witnessed several rounds of layoffs during my handful of years here, and the reactions of my bosses and higher-ups were always apathetic and focused on what's "best for the business." They don't do yearly reviews or raises. I even got a promotion without a raise. After being laid off without any prior warning, they only gave me 4 weeks of pay as severance. I also felt like everyone was pretty mediocre at their jobs, partly because of the company culture. One executive actually told us the company prides itself on running "mean and lean." I came away from the job with very few new skills. Work here if you need a steady income as soon as possible, but keep your options open. They don't care about you.

Pros

I've been in this industry for over 10 years now, but never worked for another company. I've seen too many talented hard working people either work for pennies with no increase, or give up the best years, only to get termindated. Used to justify that by the events and free tickets, but you can't pay your bills with concert tickets.

Cons

No pay raises, and when jobs are cut you can guarantee your work load is about to increase and for goood.
