Downtown office location, fun company events, Friday catered lunches

Cons

Leadership lacks accountability and often does not show up for important discussions. They then second guess decisions made in their absence. There is a lack of respect for process, logic, data and dependencies. Management quick to override those with expertise with their “know it all” attitudes creating unrealistic expectations guaranteed to fail. The OKR process is a joke, no one buys into the goals in advance and then they are debated during the quarter so the quarterly plan is always unclear.

Let me start off by saying this review is directed specifically at the Radius division of Impact. First off, management will give you empty promises. When I interviewed at Impact, I made it very clear that I was looking to do minimal outbound prospecting and wanted to focus on closing deals. I was told that there is a robust BDR team that will source meetings for you as well as referrals from our agency development team. Within 2 months I was getting breathed down my neck at least 3x a week that "outbound prospecting and self-set meetings should be at an all-time high priority." Next, don't be surprised if management sabotages one of your deals and decides to take credit for it based on how easy the deal was to close. When I started at Impact, I was given a certain territory. A lead was routed to me because that lead was in my territory. That said, because the referral wanted a contract right away and not much work had to be done to close the deal (aka it was a layup), management said the deal is going to the "house account" and as a result, I wouldn't get credit for the deal. Additionally, the internal processes and systems put in place complicate your job to no end. The product is already extremely complicated, and that I was completely ok with. However, to further complicate a rep's job by having broken sales processes and antiquated internal systems make the job that much more difficult. These processes slow down your sales cycle and actually get in the way of you closing deals. Lastly, don't be surprised if you get let go at a moment's notice, without warning. You're not given the courtesy of being put on a performance improvement plan. You're not even given a 2-week courtesy. You're literally let go on the spot, without any advance notice.

While we’re proud of our high performance culture and fast paced environment, we’re not proud of some effects it can cause at times, especially as we get bigger. We recently hired a new People Development leader in NY who will be working with our management team on getting better at giving performance feedback and developing career paths.
