Fast Growth Start Up Environment

Pros

We're in a fast-paced, competitive marketing tech environment. The company continues to grow amidst an ever-changing landscape and tries to respond as quickly as possible. Having never taken any funding has required the company to think smart about hiring and product-development - which doesn't always make everyone happy, but at least makes the company profitable. This being my 5th start up, I can attest to the stress of small tech companies, but if you enjoy contributing to a growing product that you can see the wins, its a great place to be.

Cons

Responding to an ever-changing marketplace can be stressful in a small work environment. Its not for everyone.

Pros

As engineer I love the fact that whatever I do has a direct impact on the business. We are in a stage where everybody can influence decisions with own ideas and suggestions. Definitely much better than working in big organizations.

Cons

Scrum is not strictly applied. Retrospectives are upon request and daily stand ups usually take more than 15 minutes.

Pros

They have a few perks. Some pretty cool people outside of management.

Cons

Management is not the best. Unrealistic expectations and a product that has a lot of glitches. New products are started before one is near completed. Work-life balance is non-existing. Prepare to receive calls by the President on weekends.
