Pros

Good salary mainly because the company is desperate to hire. My recruiting team are good people. Lots of work to do.

Cons

The CEO is a nightmare to work for. Company is hemorrhaging a lot, culture is horrible, the wework space we have is a disaster to work in. We work in a dungeon. All the reviews are absolutely accurate. Run for the hills. Do not work here. We are trying to hire engineers in SF and no one wants to work here. Benefits are horrible.

Pros

One of the things I've appreciated most is the opportunity to work on problems that directly affect customers at scale. Engineers are trusted with significant ownership, and it's common to see ideas move from discussion to production without excessive bureaucracy. The company operates in a technically challenging domain at the intersection of AI, voice technology, distributed systems, and financial services. For engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, there is no shortage of interesting work. Senior engineers regularly interact with product leaders, architects, and executives, which provides context on business priorities and customer needs. It's rewarding to see how engineering decisions translate into real outcomes for customers. There are also opportunities to expand beyond a narrowly defined role. If you're interested in architecture, mentoring, reliability, performance optimization, or customer-facing problem solving, you'll find room to grow.

Cons

The company is growing quickly, and with that comes some of the challenges common to scaling organizations. Priorities can evolve as customer requirements change, which occasionally results in context switching. Some engineering processes and documentation are still maturing. Different teams operate at different levels of process maturity, which can create inconsistencies in planning and execution. Because customer expectations are high, teams sometimes need to balance technical debt reduction and platform improvements against near-term delivery commitments. Finding the right balance remains an ongoing challenge. Engineers who prefer highly predictable roadmaps and clearly defined scopes may find the environment more dynamic than they are accustomed to.

Pros

I've had the opportunity to work closely with product, engineering, customer success, and leadership teams, which has given me a good view into how decisions are made across the company. The biggest positive is the level of ownership engineers are given. If you identify a problem and have a reasonable solution, you're generally encouraged to move quickly rather than getting stuck in layers of process. The technical challenges are interesting, especially around integrations with banking platforms, scalability, and reliability. There is a strong focus on solving real customer problems rather than building technology for its own sake. I've also worked with several talented engineers who genuinely care about delivering quality products and supporting one another when priorities get intense.

Cons

The pace can be demanding. Priorities occasionally shift based on customer commitments or market opportunities, which means teams need to be comfortable adapting quickly. As with many growth-stage companies, some internal processes are still evolving. Documentation, planning, and cross-team coordination have improved over time but can still feel inconsistent depending on the project. There are periods where balancing long-term platform investments against short-term customer needs becomes challenging, and engineering teams sometimes have to make tradeoffs.
