Pros

lululemon has been, and continues to be a disruptive and progressive company in all of the best ways. Some of my best days in a career have been spent working for this company. They truly value their employees, and really care about elevating the collective in and outside of their store's walls.

Cons

If working in a store capacity, management will vary from location to location.

Pros

Free workouts. Some fun people. Discount is much better for full timers, decent enough for part timers.

Cons

It will truly depend on management. I watched a lot of abuse happen there. They say they value authentic feedback, but will knit-pick people apart to give feedback for the sake of giving feedback. Many in management dangerously think that they are psychologists. I have seen many people triggered at meetings when they force mind activities on people. Luckily I did not need the job, so I took their BS with some stride, but am still scarred from what I saw them do to others. However, under the the right management, it can be a fantastic and healthy place to work. Otherwise it is toxic.

Pros

lululemon was by far one of the most fun jobs I have had. My colleagues were smart, motivated, and curious; there was a real sense of entrepreneurship with what we were able to create for our store. I signed on as a part-time educator with plans to leave after six months, and ended up holding every store position: Educator, Key leader, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager. Great benefits for retail positions: affordable health care, 401K, stock options and a stipend for working out.

Cons

Hierarchical -- if you start in the store and want to move up with the company, you will need to move through every single retail position even if you have goals outside of retail. Unprofessional practices, at times, that create awkward environments: "clearings" where employees share very personal things that are holding them back from being present, "educator breakfasts" where managers ask employees to give feedback about other managers -- this often turns into unprofessional smack-talking, and causes ill-will in the store that didn't exist before. Pipeline is often jammed, and you may need to leave the company to get the experience you need to advance at the company or in your career.
