Pros

The culture of living the six is best demonstrated by teams, where each team has subtle differences in cultural values. Many are passionate about their work and desire to learn and provide a quality product. The diversity of technical stacks is high including modern and obscure, outdated ones (since times change what is the best in industry) introducing extra challenge. Cross-functional communication is a part of day-to-day life and a valuable skill to grow. Snacks and drinks are provided for consumption throughout the day. There is some flexibility in working remotely 1-2 days/week contingent on responsibilities and deadlines. Benefits include health, hsa, dental, vision, and if applicable, student loan payments.

Cons

nCino lacks transparency about career growth and pay rates throughout different levels, and does not pay like other companies in the industry in Raleigh, Durham, or out-of-state. Growth opportunities in salary are usually 3-5% contingent on performance, which can be limited by the specific product suite or team you are assigned to. Promotions are too difficult to obtain. Teams continually shift despite executive management indicating this would stop, meaning you may shift managers or development teams regularly. Fully-remote work is not an option despite some flexibility. Culture seems to be on a slight downward trend recently. Clarity in direction is highly advertised by executive management, but not typically followed through on in practice. Technical debt is rarely addressed, creating larger piles of problems over time. 2 layoffs in 2 years with regular elimination of positions in-between despite company growth and acquisitions. Resources are not usually allocated for initiatives pushed.

Thank you so much for your post. We so appreciate hearing from our current employees. We are so glad to see so many pros that you have called out as many of our employees state very similar feelings! And we also agree that at times it can feel a bit chaotic but that comes with a company that continues to innovate and grow. That said, we are working diligently to contain that chaotic feeling so that it doesn't distract our incredible global team from doing the great work they deliver to our customers. Thank you again for your post. We appreciate you and all that you do!

Thank you for taking the time to share your review and the positives that you pointed out. Our benefits program and the various offerings that ensure we can provide the necessary flexibility to our team members is important to us. And yes, nCino is a corporation and we recognize that transition from a private, entrepreneurial company to one that is publicly traded creates change for everyone. However, we are committed to retaining and nurturing those things which made us successful in the past. Collaborating together on delivering innovative products that meet our customers needs so that we can truly transform the banking experience is paramount. Ensuring we have a culture where everyone can bring their A game and Have fun (just to name a couple) is so critically important. We try very hard to consistently demonstrate that our people matter but recognize that not everyone will agree with every decision. But we try our very best because we want nCino to be a place where the 'very best' talent comes to grow their careers. Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate it!
