Good benefits, no loyalty to employees

Pros

- Overall, everyone is pretty nice - Good PTO, around 25 days plus holidays - Company pays for 100% of health insurance premiums, plus your deductible through HSA biannually for you and your family - Physical offices are beautiful with lots of snacks and spots to work

Cons

- It's very hard to move up in the company. Most of the executive leadership are all related to or friends with the CEO/founder, so there's definitely an air of nepotism. - Pay is below industry average - They used to welcome remote work, and then dropped millions of dollars to renovate and expand the ILM offices, so then forced everyone back to the office. Why did they do this? No idea. This was after sending out surveys to all employees asking what working model they preferred. Most chose hybrid or remote. - CEO always promised no layoffs and made it seem like there was millions in capital at the company's disposal, and then laid off 6% out of nowhere. - I was a part of an acquisition that was a horrendous experience. Management had NO CLUE what they were doing and us employees from the smaller company felt like pawns instead of people. This is a personal anecdote, but when I came back from maternity leave, my role had been divvied out to my peers and I was left with what felt like a demotion. After months of working with my manager to remedy the situation, I finally left the company on somewhat good terms for a better opportunity. Fast forward several months, an opportunity opened up at nCino that I was interested in applying for. It would be under a different manager, and I always appreciated the benefits nCino offers employees, so I applied. Not only was the recruiter not responsive, but I was turned down because I requested to remain a remote employee. I get it, you need to fill your fancy new offices, but after 5 years of loyalty to the company, I expected a little loyalty in return.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and we are so glad to see you reference so many of the positives the company offers that we hear about so frequently from our current employees and alumni. And thank you for your suggestions. There is always opportunity to improve but we would like to clarify a few things. 1. We pride ourselves on recognizing our exceptional talent at nCino. From June 2023 to current date, we have had approximately 515, or approximately 25% of the company, receive promotions. We are a pay for performance company and love to recognize our talent and ensure that nCino is a place where they can grow their careers. 2. No one on the company's Executive Leadership Team is related. However, yes we all have a healthy relationship with our CEO, and each other, as any team would expect to have. 3. Our pay is based on national data of like size companies, with like revenues and like industry and all nCino employees are positioned within competitive salary ranges. 4. Like many organizations following the pandemic, we had to make decisions that were in the best interest of the company. Return to office is one of them and we are already seeing the benefits of improved collaboration and innovation because of that decision. 5. We do not restrict our hiring to Wilmington. While we do hope to hire many at our brick and mortar locations, we also realize that remote employees remain a critical part of our talent strategy. That is why we have over 400 remote employees today who make valuable contributions to this company each and every day. Our strategy has nothing to do with fancy offices - although we are proud of the facilities we provide our employees as a safe, pleasant and happy work environment matters. Our strategy is about employing the best talent in all roles. We have had great learnings from past acquisitions. Change is challenging and while we would like for things to have been perfect, perfection can be crippling. We did our best and we realize we missed the mark on some things - and we continue to improve so that future initiatives will be better for all involved. Thank you again for your post and we wish you all the best in your future career endeavors!

Toxic Leadership

Pros

The only pro at this company is the day you give notice and never have to deal with this awful culture again.

Cons

Members of marketing leadership is extremely toxic. IMM leader is inexperienced, toxic, a poor manager and no one wants to work for her. They hired a mediocre, at best, SALES person with zero marketing experience as CMO. I’ve never seen a bigger disaster.

We are sorry you were not happy in your role. One thing that we pride ourselves on is that we identify great leaders - individuals who know how to get the best out of their teams, who can motivate and engage, who can differentiate and develop talent and who can celebrate wins and coach opportunities. Organizations today have to balance that need for exceptional leadership capabilities with technical capabilities, with a gap in the latter being ok when surrounded with strong technicians throughout the team. We are very proud of our current talented Marketing team and the great work they do for this organization in differentiating us, our products and commitment to our customers in the market. We hope you have found a place where you are happy and wish you all the best in your new career endeavors!
