Pros

Co-workers are mostly smart, wonderful people. Lower management does their best to help. Benefits are amazingly good.

Cons

Executive leadership has basically ruined what used to be an excellent work culture. Between forcing everyone back to the office after telling us repeatedly they wouldn't, and laying 7% of the workforce days after assuring us there would be no layoffs, trust is completely gone. The executive leadership team has become a lot of white men chasing money. As with any workplace, there are a handful of toxic individuals who do their best to make their co-workers miserable. What used to be a jungle-gym of career opportunities has become a standard corporation of ladder-climbing and backstabbing.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. We agree with you that we have some very smart, wonderful people who make up our global nCino team. It's because of those individuals who believe in nCino's mission and who strive to deliver significant value to our customers, that the company has such a bright future. There are a couple of items that you note that we feel need to be corrected. First, there was never a promise that layoffs would not occur. There definitely was a discussion that layoffs are never and will never be an easy, first position play for the company. The decision that was made in January to impact some of our team members was difficult and was only made after exhausting many other options. Our people matter! And we are diligent in our consistent focus to ensure that we deliver on a vibrant, differentiated employee experience for all of our team members. Our benefits program, as you noted, is one of those areas. The other item we feel that warrants a response is about our culture. nCino's culture has and will continue to be about "doing our best", "doing the right thing", "respecting every person", "making someone's day", "having fun" and "having a winning attitude and being passionate about what we do." Nothing in our culture speaks to a permanent work from home arrangement. A global pandemic was the reason why we, along with most other company's around the world, asked our employees to work from home. That is because our culture is about doing the right thing and ensuring we have a safe, friendly, comfortable working environment for every individual to come and do their best work. Prior to the pandemic, nCino was an in-office company. And therefore, we are doing as you ask - we are bringing the culture back that made this organization such a success. We recognize that this decision does not align with every individual's career plans and we respect that fact. However, decisions must be made that benefit all of our stakeholders and ensure the company's ongoing success. The final item is in reference to career opportunities. We hire the best and the brightest at nCino and we are very proud of that fact. Their development and growth in the company are important. Last year, we promoted over 400 internal employees. That's approximately 25% of our workforce. The great news is that "jungle-gym of career opportunities" seems to be working very well. Thank you again for your feedback!

Pros

This will be the most honest review that you will ever read. - Good benefits, especially for Wilmington, NC area. - Immediate coworkers and lower level management are typically amazing to work with. These specific people are generally kind, intelligent, helpful, and empathetic. - Executive leadership is very open during anonymous Q&A all hands meetings with the questions they decide to answer. If they miss your question, don’t worry. They’ll try to get to it next time. If they miss it again, feel free to quit and find another job because nCino has to move forward and I truly believe it is a privilege and an honor to work here. - Snacks and drinks are provided for you in office, which is nice since you’re required to be there 5 days a week and might get a hankering for a fizzy water and trail mix. - Brand new office building, which is super nice to look at while you walk around looking for an open phone booth. - Reimbursement for Salesforce certifications, once you pass the exams after your third try. - Experience you gain at nCino will possibly get you a 40-150% salary increase with other tech companies or banks when you decide to leave. - Sweet block parties, where you will get to learn about how great it is to work at nCino and learn about the awesome investors that made nCino possible. - Food trucks and/or catering, sometimes. The great thing about this, is you never have to leave work for lunch and you can get back to your computer a little faster than you would otherwise. - Catchy phrases like “culture eats strategy for breakfast,” “we’re a family,” “keep your people happy and they will care about the company” that will keep you motivated and content. These phrases mean something here! Because family is forever. - You get a paycheck. It might not be on par with market value for your experience, skills, certifications, and education, but you’ll definitely get a paycheck. - Overtime pay is available for certain positions. nCino no longer encourages you to not put all the time you work on your time sheet, which is cool. - Tons of meetings, which is great because you’ll always be privy to what leadership wants you to know is happening and it’s definitely not because the scrum process is another form of micromanagement. - 100% in office. I put this as a benefit because it is needed to facilitate great communication and collaboration. Including with your 100% remote colleagues that you will have on the screen in the meeting. Also including your 100% remote customers that you will collaborate with via Zoom. - Occasional checks received in the mail. Who doesn’t love extra money? Thank you, gentlemen of different companies who make agreements! - Employee stock purchase plan is offered. It’s always a sweet adrenaline rush to race against the clock and actually make the discount worth it. - Sweet jokes during all hands meeting from the executive team. While explaining that nCinos low pay is due to nCino keeping us employed during rough times, the CEO made jokes about people who had left the company for more money, only to be laid off at their new company, which would never happen at nCino. Thank goodness for good leadership and job security. Layoffs are scary! - Ability to move to new positions after two years of service. Lower level management is good about trying to get you where you want to go.

Pros

Remote work environment, when in office it is a unique and fun culture. Co-workers really like spending time together outside of work.

Cons

Can probably get a higher salary working with a different consulting company.
