Pros

- Company leadership: The founders have worked on successful ventures together in the past. It has been impressive to see them use their past experience to steer x.ai and achieve quick growth from the seed round in 2014 to a Series B startup. They're very transparent about the company's mission and what it entails. - As an engineer, you get a chance to work on features that have immediate impact on the company's trajectory and customers. You will get a lot of exposure to the process of making tradeoffs for various design decisions and technical tools and frameworks. - Opportunities for accelerated career growth - you have significant control over it. - Cross-functional teams with a lot of talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. An opportunity to learn from and contribute to various departments of the company - tech, sales, marketing, customer experience

Cons

Not necessarily cons. I would describe these as things you should be aware of before deciding to take up a job here: - As with most startups, the most likely outcome of experiments is failure and working at x.ai requires a mindset that is ready for iteration and adaptation along the way. - Prioritization - You will not have a manager tell you what you should do and will have to make responsible choices through your development cycles. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your expectations and your style of working.

Pros

Awesome, fun group of people to work with every day. I go into the office for a reason. I learn something new every day. There are lots of growth opportunities as an engineer. It's very easy to feel the immediate impact of your work. There's strong senior engineering leadership to learn from. My manager takes into account my personal growth. Great focus on data-driven decision making across the organization. Meeting scheduling is a surprisingly deep and interesting problem to work on solving.

Cons

Processes are constantly evolving and aren't as mature as at some companies. Teams shift focus and composition fairly frequently. Engineering management is very hands-off and teams own their own prioritization decisions. Don't expect anyone to ever tell you what you should be doing. That style might not be suited for everyone, but it's a

Pros

- You have a clear impact towards the company success. Everything you do well will directly contribute to it. - Great team, great coworkers. - The executive team is very transparent. Transparent about running experiments to find a scalable model, as well as communicating the results. - Data driven decision making supplemented with good intuition.

Cons

- Being in a startup trying to find scalable growth is inherently risky, it's not for everyone, depends on your circumstance and what you want. Things often change based on the results of various experiments, and it can get a bit hectic.
