As we recognize Black History Month, we celebrate the trailblazers, innovators, caregivers, and advocates whose contributions have shaped the landscape of healthcare. Their work continues to inspire progress, equity, and compassion across our industry. This month is also a reminder of the ongoing responsibility we share: advancing health equity, addressing disparities, and ensuring every individual has access to high quality, culturally responsive care. The legacy of leaders like Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, Dr. Charles Drew, and so many others challenges us to push forward with purpose. At Allina Health, we’re committed to building a healthcare system where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Black history is American history — and its impact on medicine and healing is profound. We’re honored to celebrate it today and every day.

Allina Health is committed to innovative research that improves the lives of our patients, promotes population health and advances health outcomes globally. Medical research is a fundamental component of our complex care mission and extends across a variety of specialty areas. Our broad scope allows us to participate in more clinical trials and diagnostic studies, uniquely positioning Allina Health to be a regional research hub. In 2024, we saw the highest levels of research funding over the past 5 years, providing more access to potentially life-saving therapeutics not otherwise available. Last month, our care team members celebrated All Together Better Month. It’s a time for us to recognize the extraordinary individuals who are committed to the communities we serve with compassion, integrity, excellence and teamwork. While we took time to celebrate with each other, we also gave back to our communities. 523 care team members volunteered at 45 different opportunities by sorting food for families, serving meals, collecting essential items for unhoused people, doing yard work, creating birthday party kits for kids and more. We also matched these contributions of time with $17,500 in donations to the community organizations where we volunteered.
