We're passionate about a lot of things, but we're especially passionate about inspiring and educating the next generation of health care employees. That's why many of our regional hospitals have started up local Scrub Clubs - Monthly meetings designed to give students a taste of the health care life. During Scrub Club, students have the opportunity to meet with local physicians, gain hands-on experience in areas like CPR training, casting and intubation, and receive resume advice. Thanks to all of our physicians, nurses and staff for leading the way for these future health care workers!

It was an exciting day at our Discover Health Care Careers Event! 40 high school students explored health care through simulations labs, panels and other hands-on activities. By engaging young minds, we hope to build a strong volunteer corps and foster a pipeline of talent for the future. A special thanks to our Volunteer Services, Community Benefit and Nursing Professional Development teams for making this day a success!
"Slide" on over to Mercy Hospital - This newly renovated playground is now open! Special thanks to the City of Coon Rapids and our donors for upgrades to Mercy Park including adaptive equipment, a rubber surface and easy access to the playground area. We hope the park will serve as a fun place to go for our Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute patients, local families and hospital visitors.
Working in Language Services as one of our Spanish interpreters and translators, Karla Renteria is on a mission to make health care more accessible for our Spanish-speaking patients and community members. "I love to help people achieve effective communication, to understand, so that they can make decisions about something as important as their health." During Hispanic Heritage Month, we continue to acknowledge the importance and impact of Hispanic representation within the health care space with the help of Karla and other Hispanic and LatinX community members.
