Exciting News! We are thrilled to announce that our Williamsburg plant has been honored with a Hoover Sustainability Award. This recognition highlights our team's outstanding efforts in sustainability, including: Reducing electricity usage by 6.2% year-over-year by installing 20 conservation valves and optimizing compressor usage. Cutting water usage by 4.61% through optimized water flow rates on washers. Focusing on product circularity by recycling aluminum consumer goods and participating in numerous clean-up events. We teamed up with Minalba Brasil to help remedy a prevalent yet complex issue in the visually impaired community: reading can labels. Together, we created an aluminum can with a braille-embossed lid that helps individuals with visual impairments know what they’re grabbing from the cooler. We’re thrilled to share that our braille-embossed lid won the Best Design in Latin America as part of Fast Company’s 2024 Innovation by Design Awards! As the first in the Brazilian market, our braille-embossed lid offers two options: water (agua) and sparkling water (agua gas). This was a difficult undertaking, as can lids are circular, which can prove confusing for languages like braille, which are read left to right. Being precise with the size of dots and distance between dots was crucial to relaying the correct message for readers. We worked with the Fundação Dorina Nowill para Cegos (the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind), an expert organization in Brazil, to ensure that our braille-embossed lid follows the standards for braille in terms of legibility. The 2024 Innovation by Design Awards, hosted by the leading business media outlet Fast Company, celebrates designers and businesses who are addressing today's most pressing challenges and anticipating tomorrow's critical issues. The Best Design entries were judged on functionality, originality, beauty, sustainability, user insight, cultural impact, and business impact.

Our summer interns recently joined our Colorado team for a week dedicated to professional development, networking, and engaging activities. We have loved witnessing their growth in sustainability knowledge and the exploration of their potential career paths.
