PRIDE MONTH Closes with Community & Conversation On June 30, Pride Month was capped off by a forum hosted by our DEI council and led by Jodi Allen, our Chief Marketing Officer. With over 250 team members in attendance, it provided an opportunity for open and real dialogue. We shared our connections to the LGBTQ+ community, how we celebrate Pride, and how Behr and each of us can be better allies and show support throughout the year, not just during Pride Month. We thank those team members who demonstrated powerful vulnerability in sharing their raw and moving stories, both as members of the LBGTQ+ communities and as allies. In closing, Jeff Filley, our President, emphasized the importance of making our organization a place where every person feels safe, and that it requires listening and learning from one another so that we all get better every day. It all comes down to our foundational core value: “do the right thing.”

BEHR TEAM MEMBERS VOLUNTEER AS E-MENTORS We’re proud of our Behr team mates, Lauren Luke, Brian Van Metre, and Daniel Diaz, who volunteered their time for a 6-month e-mentorship program offered through our philanthropy partner, Orange County United Way. They provided much needed support to high school seniors in underserved school districts. The entire program was virtual, with monthly workshop topics for students to discuss with their mentors during their mentorship one-on-one meetings. Thank you, Daniel, Brian, and Lauren, for helping our high schools seniors become college- and career-ready!

Individuals can also educate themselves about LGBTQ+ information and topics by reviewing our LBGTQ+ resources, such as a glossary of terms, historical timeline, and Pride Month events calendar. Our ongoing goal is to be a place where everyone feels empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work.

FRESH ARTISTS: Behr’s Philanthropy Partner Fresh Artists delivers art supplies and innovative art programs to underfunded, low-income public schools nationwide, supporting primarily underserved, non-white children living in deep poverty. Behr is proud to be involved with Fresh Artists for the past 7 years. Our donations of obsolete paint chips have enabled Fresh Artists to reach more than 500,000 students with their innovative “Chip Art” self-portrait art program. Behr’s recent grant supported their efforts to deliver art education and keep kids actively creative and learning in a virtual environment. And our very own Adam Aquino, Behr’s plant manager in Allentown, PA, is a long-time member of their board of trustees. Fresh Artists believes all kids need and deserve a robust artmaking program in their schools and Behr agrees and supports this mission!

LISTENING TOURS WITH BEHR SENIOR EXECUTIVES As part of our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Behr holds monthly Listening Tours, hosted by our President, Jeff Filley, or one of his executive direct reports. Each quarter has a specific theme, and also provides our executives another way to hear different voices and perspectives. The tours are part of our efforts to continuously ask for feedback and act on it so that we can continue to grow and improve.
