To our dedicated nursing team, we value and appreciate all that you do to make life better for our patients and their families. Our nurses and nurse techs are the heart of our hospital. We love to hear stories about your favorite nurses! Let our nurses know how much you appreciate them by writing a message in the comments. #NationalNursesWeek
In anticipation of safely welcoming back our #volunteers to our campuses this week, we hosted a drive-thru event to celebrate our more than 1,000 volunteers who have selflessly served in many creative and virtual ways over the last year. With many cars decorated for the occasion, the event was a sweet reunion with our volunteer friends and dogs, and we look forward to their return to brighten the days of our patients and team members!
During #NationalVolunteerWeek, we recognize our incredible volunteers like Amy. During the 43 years she's volunteered with us at our Dallas campus, she's made such an impact assisting our team members and patient families, restocking supplies and cleaning beds. We’re thankful for her many years of service and wish her the best as she retires from volunteering this year. Though Amy hasn't been at our Dallas campus this year because of COVID-19, we remember when her grandson came to visit with the SMU football team a couple years ago and we snapped this sweet photo of them together. We're so grateful for you, Amy!
As more people receive the #COVIDVaccine, our expert explains the importance of not letting your guard down and still practice handwashing, social distancing and wearing a mask. Learn how you can safely do some of the things we have missed over the last year, like traveling and visiting with family and friends.
Monse, a nurse in our ER, has a special bond with our Dallas campus. She was admitted into our care for a liver transplant shortly after she was born. Now, nearly 30 years after her successful transplant, Monse's primary pediatric nurse discovered her precious patient is now her fellow colleague in our ER. We are so grateful to have these difference makers on our team!
Join us as we thank our doctors on #NationalDoctorsDay! We love to shine a light on our physicians who help keep our patients healthy, safe and smiling through the good days and the challenging ones. To celebrate, our patients are encouraging their doctors with handwritten notes as they continue to dedicate themselves to making life better for children and protecting our community from COVID-19.
This Women's History Month, we are grateful for nurse May Forster Smith, who founded Dallas Baby Camp in 1913. More than 100 years ago, this initiative created the foundation for our present-day Dallas campus. We are forever inspired by nurse May Forster Smith's dedication and passion for making life better for children every day. Learn more about our history here:
This month marks one year of our large-scale response to #COVID19. This virus challenged us all like never before, and we're extremely proud of our #HealthcareHeroes for inspiring perseverance and demonstrating extraordinary resilience the last 365 days.
Our patient Sofia is helping us celebrate #InternationalWomensDay with the perfect shirt - "Girls Support Girls." She doesn't let 22Q slow her down! Sofia loves when she gets visits from our pet therapy dog, Keaton, and Social Worker, Rebecca while receiving care in our 22Q team clinic. #SocialWorkMonth
