When Faye V. stepped into her role as a Material Procurement Strategist at Daifuku nearly a year ago, she brought with her over 15 years of experience—and a mindset rooted in problem-solving, precision, and continuous improvement. From day one, Faye dove into the complex world of electrical material sourcing, working hand-in-hand with engineering, purchasing teams, and suppliers. Her goal? To bring clarity to complexity. To untangle supply chain challenges and turn them into solutions that align with tight project schedules and evolving production demands. It’s not just about parts on paper. For Faye, it’s about building relationships—with people, with processes, and with progress. In a time when global supply chains face constant pressure, her work is instrumental in strengthening Daifuku’s electrical supplier network and refining the strategies that support our automation initiatives. She's not just keeping things moving—she's helping us move smarter, with a clear eye on our 2030 strategic targets and long-term resilience. Faye’s story is one of expertise meeting purpose. And we’re proud to have her driving impact behind the scenes, where real innovation begins.

Robert Smith’s journey with Daifuku Intralogistics America has been defined by growth, innovation, and a passion for engineering excellence. Starting as a Controls Engineer intern while earning his degree in electrical engineering, Robert quickly immersed himself in hands-on work—programming and commissioning conveyor systems that laid the foundation for his technical expertise. After graduation, Robert joined full-time as a Controls Engineer I, where he played a key role in developing Sym3, Daifuku’s advanced HMI solution. His work on sorter maintenance screens reflected both his technical capabilities and his client-first approach—values sharpened under the mentorship of Ben Duerk. Supported by Daifuku’s tuition reimbursement program, Robert pursued a master’s in robotics, which led him to the robotics office in Dallas. There, he helped design and commission a PLC/HMI solution for a major robotic depalletizer project—earning him a promotion to Controls Engineer II. In his third year, Robert led a comprehensive project, overseeing electrical design, programming, and commissioning. The solution integrated conveyors, a tilt tray sorter, and a monorail system, resulting in a highly successful outcome and another well-earned promotion to Controls Engineer III. Robert continues to thrive by building strong partnerships and delivering innovative, high-performance solutions. His dedication and leadership make him a valuable asset to Daifuku’s future in automation.
