At Din Tai Fung, we believe in caring for our team.❤️ Today, we launched the DTF Care Fund in partnership with Core Gives a nonprofit that provides financial relief to food and beverage service employees during times of crisis. This program was designed to support our team members during life’s unexpected challenges, providing meaningful financial assistance when it’s needed most. Because when life happens, no one should have to face it alone. Through this partnership, we’re not just offering help. We’re strengthening a culture of compassion, support, and care that truly defines who we are.🥟
Eric Law’s journey is a reflection of what’s possible when you lead with perseverance, self-awareness, and a drive to grow.💫 He began his Din Tai Fung career in 2014 as a busser at our original Arcadia location. From there, Eric took on every front-of-house role: runner, server, bartender, trainer, and eventually joined the management team in 2017. With each new opportunity, he stepped outside of his comfort zone, eager to take on more and continue learning. Step by step, Eric advanced and now serves as our Area Front of House Manager, overseeing five restaurants: Arcadia, Century City, Glendale, Manhattan, and Santa Monica. "I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t push myself to grow, learn more, and take on new responsibilities." He also reflects daily: “Ask yourself if all the decisions you made today align with our mission and values.” Eric’s story is a reminder that growth takes self-reflection, a willingness to improve, and the courage to step outside of your comfort zone.👏
🥟Exciting leadership updates at Din Tai Fung North America! As we enter a new phase of growth, we're proud to share a few important updates that reflect our long-term vision and commitment to building a company that lasts. Aaron Yang will be transitioning from Co-CEO into a new role as Head of Family Board, where he will focus on stewarding the long-term strategic growth of our physical footprint and the legacy of our brand. At the same time, we’re thrilled to welcome Nilesh Patel as our new Chief Financial Officer. Nilesh brings a wealth of experience leading high-growth teams across finance, supply chain, operations, and business development. Growing up in a restaurant family, Nilesh developed a deep passion for hospitality and operations early on, and he’s stayed connected to those roots while building and leading values-driven teams in the industry. This pivotal moment for Din Tai Fung’s Executive Team is anchored by strong internal talent rising to Chief Operating Officer Teddy Choi and Vice President of IT Ron Johnson. Please join us in celebrating this next chapter anchored in continuity and confidence in where we’re headed. The future is bright!✨
Featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal, the story of Din Tai Fung in North America is one of legacy, discipline, and generational dedication.✨ Co-CEOs Aaron and Albert Yang—the third generation of the founding family—grew up in the Arcadia restaurant, running credit cards at age seven and folding dumplings by twelve. Today, they lead the business with the same values passed down from their parents and grandfather: quality, consistency, and care. “Our priority is not to make the most money and open as many stores as we can,” Albert said. “We want to open as many stores as we can while maintaining our quality standards, and we’re just unwilling to expand too fast, where we’re compromising that quality.” From Santa Monica to New York City to Vancouver, every new opening is a reflection of that commitment—a heritage of discipline and detail brought to life through thoughtful growth, rigorous team training, and a shared dedication to the guest experience.🥟 Read the full feature on the Yang brothers and their leadership journey: https://lnkd.in/gxRXzbTY
A recent article from Restaurant Business Online highlighted Din Tai Fung's strong average unit volumes, something we’re proud of not just for the numbers themselves, but for what they represent.🥟 This momentum is the result of operational excellence, consistency, and the care our team members bring to every detail, from the way we fold each Xiao Long Bao to how we support and grow one another. Our people, and the culture of excellence they uphold, are what drive our success. If you’re passionate about hospitality, leadership, and making an impact through operational excellence, come be a part of it.🌟
Nga Tran’s journey is a reflection of what’s possible when you lead with curiosity, humility, and heart. She began her Din Tai Fung journey in a front-of-house support role, eager to learn and contribute to her team. From the start, Nga looked for ways to grow beyond her daily responsibilities and deepen her understanding of the guest experience and how strong teams work together. Nga advanced step by step: server, trainer, assistant manager, assistant general manager, and now, General Manager. 🌟 “What really motivated me was seeing how leadership impacts culture—I want to be someone who makes a difference,” Nga shared. Through each step, she leaned into challenges, sought feedback, and remained committed to learning. Her consistency, adaptability, and ability to uplift those around her have made a lasting impact on every team she’s been part of. Nga’s story reminds us that at Din Tai Fung, growth doesn’t come from titles alone—it comes from showing up each day with a mindset to learn, support others, and lead with purpose. 🥟
Every detail of our new Vancouver restaurant was designed with intention, from floor tiles that echo garden stones to wood-carved screens that gently filter natural light. In collaboration with the Rockwell Group, we brought to life a space inspired by traditional Chinese Zen gardens, honoring our cultural roots while creating a serene, modern dining experience. ✨ From the vestibule’s rock garden and lantern-lit entry to the centerpiece bonsai tree and soft teal tones throughout the space, the design embodies quiet elegance—a reflection of the same care and craftsmanship found in every dish we serve.🥢 We’re proud to bring our story to life through design and flavor, sharing our culture one restaurant at a time. 🥟
Congratulations to our Co-CEOs, Aaron Yang and Albert Yang, on being named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500, recognizing the most influential leaders shaping the future of our city. ✨ Over the past decade, Aaron and Albert have led DTF with vision and heart, growing the brand while honoring its roots. Their leadership continues to bring people together through exceptional dining experiences and a deep respect for culture and community.
