A new chapter is unfolding at our University Village Shopping Center location! 🥟 We’re excited to share that Din Tai Fung will be relocating to a brand-new, larger space — just steps away from where we’ve proudly served the Seattle community since 2014. What’s New: 🥢 Expanded Space: The new location will span approximately 18,000 square feet — more than twice the size of our current restaurant. 🌟 Innovative Design: Designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, the space will feature our iconic dumpling showcase kitchen, giving guests a front-row view of the craftsmanship behind every dish. This move reflects our continued commitment to creating an elevated environment rooted in modern comfort — for both our guests and our team.

🥢What sets our Xiao Long Bao apart? It’s the art of precision and a legacy of craftsmanship. 🧑🏻🍳 Each dumpling is hand-folded with exactly 18 folds, filled with savory broth, and steamed to perfection, all weighing exactly 21 grams. 🥟 From the temperature of the dough to the timing of the steam, every detail matters. Because to us, excellence isn’t just a goal, it’s a legacy we’re proud to carry forward.🌟

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we’re proud to spotlight one of our inspiring women leaders in operations: Hanna Chung 👩🍳🌟 Hanna first joined Din Tai Fung as a Kitchen Manager at our Torrance location—but her journey started long before that as a loyal guest, lining up at our original Arcadia restaurant on Saturday mornings just to be one of the first seated. Today, she’s an Area Kitchen Manager overseeing four locations, known for her calm leadership, high standards, and care for her teams. 🙌 👇 Check out her Q&A below! What challenges have you encountered as a woman in leadership? “Inequality has always existed. I learned early on, through a woman chef I deeply admire, to lead not with anger but with conviction. I choose to speak up, let my actions lead, and not let inequality define me.” What advice would you give to young women in their careers? “Speak up, and let your work reinforce your voice. Focus on your skills, and opportunities will follow. Build relationships that support both your growth and well-being.” Most memorable experience at DTF? “During the pandemic, my noodle team had to quarantine. Without hesitation, another manager came to help, and Head Chef James Fu stepped in on the line. It reminded me how DTF truly operates as a team.” What excites you about DTF’s future? “Our continued growth. Food brings emotion, memory, and culture—and I’m proud to be part of sharing that with more people.”

In honor of Women's History Month, we’re proud to spotlight Tawanda Starms, our Chief People Officer. ✨ Tawanda is committed to fostering a culture where employees feel seen, heard, and valued. Since joining, she has been leading people-first strategies, including Employee Value Proposition initiatives, to strengthen our culture and enhance the team member experience. We sat down with Tawanda to hear her insights on leadership, career growth, and the future of Din Tai Fung. Read one of her inspiring answers below, and visit our LinkedIn to see more! 👇 🔹 What advice would you give to young women looking to advance their careers? 🗨️ "Go for it—bet on yourself! If you don’t, no one else will. I’ve been fortunate to have a supportive family, mentors, and sponsors who saw something in me before I saw it in myself. But you have to do the work. Be honest about your areas for growth and commit to improving every day. Surround yourself with a strong ‘board of directors’—truth tellers who will challenge and support you. Most importantly, define success on your own terms and give yourself grace along the way. We’re all a work in progress." With Tawanda’s leadership, we look forward to the journey ahead. 🥟
