The FSC logo is actually a few years younger than FSC. FSC began in 1979, but we didn't have a logo then. We were founded as the Wisconsin Private Sector Initiative, or WPSIP. We changed our name to Forward Service Corporation when WPSIP ended in 1984 and designed a logo to reflect our commitment to helping people move forward. Using the state motto as part of our name made sense because every person we help strengthens our entire community. When the millennium hit, a lot of companies decided to re-brand their image. From Pepsi to Apple to DC Comics, we started seeing more streamlined logos and internet-friendly designs. We seized the chance to focus on our image, too. In 2007, a group of students at MATC helped us create the recognizable swoosh and hand-in-hand people on our logo today. We also freshened up our color palette with friendly blue tones. To this day, we love how it represents our friendly, helpful team and dedication to strive for new horizons!
Heads up! It's our 40th Anniversary, and we'll be celebrating all April long! Looking back, we're excited to see how the pioneering spirit of Forward Service Corporation has carried us through the decades. Looking forward, we'll continue to focus on innovations that keep our customers at the heart of everything we do. To kick things off, we made a cool free poster showing successes over the last year and some of our milestones over the last four decades. Thank you for an amazing 40 years and for always pushing us forward! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMnPi
Our Emergency Assistance team just packed, sorted, and moved hundreds of books while volunteering with REACH-A-Child! This organization is dedicated to change children's lives with the power of books. They give bags filled with good books to first responders, like police and firefighters, who then give them to children in crisis. We share their passion for helping children, and we're so happy we could help out!
Last year, 14 teammates earned promotions with us. That's up from 9 in 2017! We love to see people achieving their career goals with us. Great job!
We'd like to give a big shout out to Deputy Josalyn Longley and Retired Deputy Cindy Holmes with the Dane County Sheriff's Office for providing a useful presentation on how we keep our team safe! "De-escalation," i.e. how to keep people calm when they're feeling upset, is such an important topic. We always want to provide a welcoming and safe place for our customers and staff. These officers did a fantastic job interacting with our team and providing methods that can help with that. Thank you both!
It's the First Day of Winter and our last day of work before a long holiday weekend! We will be closed from the end of business today until Wednesday, December 26 for the holidays. Good cheer to all!
Our offices are closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. We'll see you on Monday!
This group just finished the first round of training for our new service model, Transition to Success! This program is helping us zero in on the causes and treatments for poverty, so we can be a better resource for those in need. Our team said the training was enlightening, and they're eager to put it into practice.
Upward Bound Update: 92% of our graduating high school class started college this fall! We're excited to see all of your hard work pay off.
