🏌#TeamGEI kept it in the fairway at the fourth annual Kalamazoo River Cleanup Group’s charity golf outing. We funded the event with help from GEI Gives Back in our South, Central, and East Regions. The weather did its part to make the day special for 21 teams and 21 sponsors. Best of all, the outing raised $13,000 for the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center through the Allegan County Community Foundation (ACCF). Safe Harbor serves abused children by providing hope and health via a range of no-cost services to victims or their families. #Thankyou to all teams, sponsors, and volunteers who made the day a special one. Our team was there to engage the public and demonstrate and build excitement for the project’s draft design plans. We’ve been involved since the beginning of this important #restoration project – design, engineering, modeling, grant applications, and stakeholder engagement – and were thrilled to take designs to the people. #TeamGEI is proud to give back to the Guelph community by donating decommissioned laptops and desktops to two incredible non-profits: the Guelph Tool Library and Guelph-Wellington Women In Crisis. 💻✨ But the impact didn’t stop there, additional laptops also went to: – A school for street kids in Rwanda – The robotics team at Elmira District Secondary School – The Lego robotics team at Park Manor Sr. Public School – A single mother at Michael House in Guelph, completing an online course – Young women in post-secondary school in Peru (through Christian Missions Resource Centre) – A 14-year-old newcomer from Mexico, preparing for school – The 14-year-old daughter of two local non-profit workers These donations help reduce e-waste while supporting programs that promote digital equity, sustainability, and vital community services—both locally and globally. A big #thankyou to Jason Blamire, Russell M., and Amanpreet Judge who volunteered their own time to prepare the devices for donation 👏.
