In honor of Black History Month, our B.L.A.C.C. Business Resource Group is excited to continue highlighting our Team Members all month long. This week, we are featuring Tashawna, Senior In-Store Communications Specialist on our In-Store Communications & Print Procurement team. #TeamMemberTuesday “Growing up, there was always music playing. My parents made sure that I knew what REAL music was. R&B and Soul music from the 50s, 60s and 70s is some of the best music that still sounds incredible. When I start a family, I hope I can pass on my love of the “greats” to my children.” Did you know? Giant Eagle will be sharing Black History Month facts and music to educate and entertain our guests during their in-store experience! The various messages can be heard over the in-store announcements within our supermarket locations throughout February.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we’re celebrating his life and legacy with this week’s #TeamMemberTuesday featuring Charles, Visual Merchandising Sr. Team Leader at Robinson Market District! “If it wasn’t for Dr. King and his sacrifices, we wouldn’t live in a country where I can sit wherever I want. I would not have been able to go to school and get an education and have experiences with art. I cherish what his life means to this day. I can appreciate his peaceful approach because it showed that he cared about everybody and their safety. That mentality is what gets us to a peaceful place where everyone is equal, and love leads the way.”

Julie started working for Giant Eagle as a Cashier when she was 17 and has grown her career in human resources ever since. Julie is always looking for new opportunities to learn, grow and make GetGo a great place to work!
This week's #TeamMemberTuesday is featuring Emily, Research and Development Manager and accomplished Chef, based out of our San Francisco location. Emily recently had the privilege of competing on the Food Network's "Chopped" cooking competition show! We are honored to have Emily as a part of our Giant Eagle family. In her role, Emily is responsible for the development and implementation of new food products and food service concepts in both manufacturing and our retail environments.
This week's #TeamMemberTuesday is featuring Cory, Guest Service & Communication Specialist at GetGo Cafe Market! Cory's career with GetGo and Giant Eagle began as a part time Cashier with GetGo nearly 12 years ago. He has since worked his way up the retail leadership structure and moved into various corporate roles supporting both Giant Eagle and GetGo. Cory has also been an instrumental leader for GE Proud, Giant Eagle's LGBTQ Business Resource Group.

We'd like to recognize Emiel for his dedication, enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to the Giant Eagle family.
