November 8 is STEM Day, celebrating science, technology, engineering and math education and recognizing our next generation of STEM leaders. We’re looking back at our middle school visit last year, where our Tech Center team demonstrated some cool experiments with some help from student volunteers. We look forward to the opportunity to visit these young scientists again in the future!

“I’ve always enjoyed chemistry. Both of my parents worked in science-related fields and I had some great chemistry instructors in my educational ventures who steered me to pursuing chemistry as a career.” Eric is an Account Manager in the Milwaukee and Chicagoland area for our Food Group. Prior to working with Hydrite, Eric was a high school chemistry teacher in Sussex, Wisconsin, instructing Honors Chemistry and also starting the school’s Advanced Placement (AP) Chemistry program. Six years ago, Eric joined the Hydrite team as an Account Manager in Development. Eric shared, "I always say, ‘Instead of helping kids, I’m helping companies now’ in my role. I enjoy working with people in the field to listen to their roadblocks and help them find solutions to their problems. Hydrite has a fabulous support group, helping me with problems I do not have the immediate answers to. It is a great place to work.” #NationalChemistryWeek #ncw

During National Chemistry Week, Claire, a Product Development Chemist at our Technical Center, shares why she enjoys working in chemistry: “Chemistry touches so many products and industries. It is fun to look at everyday items and recognize the chemicals used in them or to know that Hydrite helped make that.” Claire started with Hydrite as a Technical Center Intern in 2016. After graduating, she returned in 2017 as a TS&D Chemist, supporting the Food Group at Hydrite. In 2019, she assumed a new role as a Product Development Chemist for the Industrial group, focusing on tolling/contract manufactured formulas that Hydrite produces.
