A few weeks ago we had a team of employees help out at the Urban Ecology Center in the Menomonee Valley, removing cow thistle from the prairie. It was a great afternoon, spending time outside in the Milwaukee area.

Today Adam Whittaker, our Milwaukee Plant Manager, and Christina Lund, our Milwaukee Technical Information Manager, presented Jonathan Hansen from the Hunger Task Force, a check matching the United Way Campaign Contributions raised by the Milwaukee Facilities (Milwaukee West, TS&D and Bradley Road) in 2017’s campaign. A big thank you to all of our employee's who contributed to the cause! We look forward to the 2018 campaign.

The annual celebration to recognize the hard work of the Nation’s professional truck drivers takes place from September 9th through September 15th. Here at Hydrite we currently have 104 drivers that have their commercial driver licenses’ and the required endorsements to transport hazardous material in bulk quantities. Like many drivers around the country, Hydrites’ drivers start early in the morning and can legally work up to 14 hours a day. In some cases, if they meet certain criteria, they can legally work as many as 16 hours. Our drivers do much more than keeping their rigs between the white lines and arriving safely at each customer destination. Our drivers become Hydrites’ representatives on the road and at our customers’ locations. They make a huge impression as they work with customer personnel and in many cases, our customers only want their deliveries made by Hydrite drivers. One of our founders, R. C. Honkamp, noted that our drivers were our best sales representatives. Take a moment during this week to say hi and job well done to our drivers.

Last week we took part in the Cristo Rey Draft Day at the Northwestern Mutual building in downtown Milwaukee. We got to meet our 10 Cristo Rey students who will be working in our IT, Customer Service, HR, Legal and Administrative Departments over the next school year.
