Here's a Feel Good Friday for you all- Paul Smith, our Director of Corporate Accounts, has been working hard on behalf of Hydrite to help out a local cause. Rider’s Roost, a cycling club has teamed up with the United Way of South Central Idaho and local businesses to provide 25 new bikes and helmets for local kids this Christmas! This project came about as an idea from Rider’s Roost club members as a way to spread a little holiday cheer this Christmas for kids that didn’t have a bicycle, while also trying to promote an active and healthy lifestyle for kids and parents alike. Hydrite will be sponsoring 12 bike pumps to be included in this giveaway- more photos to come from the event on December 15th, stay tuned. Nice work, Paul!

Today we celebrate Chris Lorang's 25th work anniversary with us. Chris is our Product Quality Manager who sits at our Waterloo, Iowa facility and facilitates the Quality Assurance management for Waterloo and LaCrosse, Wisconsin. We're appreciative of his devotion to us over the past 25 years and look forward to his continued success. Please join us in congratulating Chris on this accomplishment!

October 21st-27th is National Chemistry Week! We embrace this week, as a chemical company, by communicating the importance of chemistry to the quality of life. Our highly trained staff thinks creatively, investigates options, and develops the best solutions for all types of operations. We make and supply the ingredients that make your food and beverages more flavorful, the fluoride to treat water and prevent tooth decay, the chemicals to improve water quality, and the cleaners and sanitizers used in the food industry. This week we celebrated 30 years of employment for Kevin Axon. Kevin is currently our Operations Manager at our Oshkosh facility. He started out at the Hydrite Waterloo facility in 1988, where he held various positions. In 2005, he took over the operations position for retiring Dick Strand. Kevin’s wife Sandy and his son, Mike joined the facility for a celebratory lunch. Thank you for your hard work, Kevin, and congratulations on this accomplishment!

We held our Visalia annual picnic on last Saturday at the Riverway Sports Park in Visalia. This year we had 100 guests in attendance to enjoy getting to know the real families behind our Hydrite employees. Beyond great conversation and laughs, our guests enjoyed the obstacle course, rock climbing wall, bungee trampolines, family games, face painting, a taco bar and Rosa Brothers Ice Cream. We ended the day with a raffle for prizes from Sequoia Brewing, Uline and Hydrite. Every family went home with a pumpkin to celebrate the beginning of the fall harvest season.

Ten of our Cottage Grove employees participated in the highway clean-up yesterday and it was a success – despite the threatening clouds, wind, and autumn chill! They picked up the area and found some interesting items that caused a great deal of laughter along the way. Thank you to all who helped! This was our last Adopt-a-Highway outing until Spring 2019…stay tuned until then for the next event.

This past weekend our Lubbock, Texas branch had their first annual company picnic. Our employees and their families spent the afternoon bowling, laser tagging, mini golfing and playing arcade games. It was a great opportunity for families to meet and spend the day together. A big thank you to all who helped put the fun event together!
