Wallethub evaluated cities using two core dimensions: sociodemographics (50 points) and jobs and economy (50 points). These dimensions were assessed using 17 metrics, including population growth, growth in share of college-educated population, median household income growth, unemployment rate decrease, increase in number of businesses and median house price growth. You may think of genetic conditions as uncommon. Even well-known conditions such as muscular dystrophy or hemophilia affect relatively few people. While individual genetic conditions such as these are rare, genetic conditions affect approximately one out of every 20 individuals. As a result, more than 900,000 individuals within Intermountain’s service area have a genetic condition or underlying genetic risk to develop a significant health condition.

For the fifth consecutive year, Intermountain’s Supply Chain Organization has been recognized as a “Master” Supply Chain Organization by Gartner, a national consulting organization. This designation is evidence of Intermountain’s continued commitment to service excellence, sustainability, cost reduction, and innovation. Gartner highlighted the Supply Chain’s work in integration, Zipline partnership, creation of sourcing Center of Excellence, and their job description change from education-base to skill-base.

House Supervisor Amanda Cooley was on her lunch break at Cedar City Hospital in Cedar City, UT when she noticed a patient walking down the hospital concourse who had clearly just been discharged from the Emergency Department. He still wore his patient arm band and had some obvious injuries. “Naia Ursua, who is an operating room supplier, asked the patient why he didn’t have any shoes,” Amanda says. “The patient said he’d been in a car accident and had lost them. Naia asked him what size he wore. The patient said he wore size 11. Naia replied, ‘Hey, these are a 10.5. Try these on.’ And then, Naia literally took the shoes off his feet and gave them to this patient. The patient adamantly said he couldn’t take them, but Naia insisted, saying he lived just around the corner and had lots of shoes, and continued to insist that the patient take them. My heart was just overpouring with gratitude that someone could be so giving. This kind man literally gave the shoes right off his feet and ended up walking out of the hospital in his socks.”

MyGen clinics in Nevada have seen over 183,000 patients so far in 2022 - Enough to fill over 1050 flights out of McCarran International Airport if easily accessible healthcare was unavailable to seniors. Intermountain also won a “Gold 2022 Best of Las Vegas” award for best Women’s Clinic and brought home “Silver 2022 Best of Las Vegas Awards” in the categories of best Urgent Care/Walk in Clinic and Men’s Health. We’re proud to see our accomplishments highlighted in meaningful ways within the communities we serve.
