Those facing food insecurity has grown by millions across the globe since the outset of the pandemic. With the numbers so vast, it can be hard to understand how to make a difference. It is this very reason that we are helping to fight hunger one meal at a time. The fresh, organic produce and protein from the JK Community Farm has been a lifeline for many families struggling with food insecurity. To help meet this demand, the Farm will be doubling production in 2021. Our goal this Giving Tuesday is to raise $100,000 to help provide 230,000 lbs. of food for families in need. Every dollar donated during the JK Community Farm's #GivingTuesday campaign is matched, dollar for dollar, which means twice as much food for those who need it. Please consider giving.
For many, November is a time for reflection and giving thanks. When we share gratitude in the workplace, it has a positive impact on all of us. This week, give thanks to at least one colleague each day in our Attitude of Gratitude Challenge.
Happy Veterans Day!
Thank you Veterans!
The first Wednesday of November is National Stress Awareness Day. If you are experiencing stress this year, you are not alone. At JK, we offer a variety of tools for employees to manage their stress. Our Employee Assistance Program has a variety of tools available to employees and their families as well as free telephone counseling sessions. Through our wellness program, employees can participate in on-site activities like exercise and yoga classes, information sessions on managing stress and financial planning, and convenience events such as on-site flu-shots and farmers market. Featured below, Susan B, Director of Accounting, participates in the weekly Yoga class in Sterling, VA.
