What better way to celebrate National Hot Dog Day than our "Dog Days of Summer" Cookout! Employees enjoyed free hot dogs, chips, and drinks in the shade at the JK building in Sterling, VA. Special thank-you to our grill-master Bobby Harris!
The 2020 Interns volunteered at the JK Community Farm again this year, helping to harvest almost 1,000 lbs of organic veggies for local food pantries. JK's intern program is a mix of on the job experience, cross-training, face-to-face engagement with leadership, and inclusion activities. We thank them for all their hard work this summer! The JK Community Farm is a 501(3)c Non-Profit Organization providing fresh, organic fruit, vegetables, and protein to the food insecure including children and senior citizens in Loudoun County and surrounding areas in partnership with Loudoun Hunger Relief.
As we celebrate another successful summer internship cohort, employees and interns alike showed their school spirit and made new connections by wearing their school colors this week. Thank you 2020 interns!
Meet Guillermo Hernandez, a member of our IT team. Guillermo started as a warehouse helper and leveraged his skills to move his career up into the IT department. Since the making of this video, Guillermo has been promoted to Systems Administrator. Congratulations on your 15-year Work Anniversary!
Today was the annual equipment tour for JK interns. Interns are given the opportunity to explore an overnight tractor-trailer to get an understanding of where our Long Distance Drivers spend much of their time. As one of our most popular intern events, everyone was very careful to observe social distancing, even for the group photo! New for this year, the event was broadcast over zoom for interns at our satellite locations so that they could still participate without risking the travel to our headquarters. Welcome interns!
Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July from JK Moving Services!
At JK Moving, we celebrate diversity and champion inclusion and compassion for all, within our workplace and throughout the communities where we live and work. #PrideMonth
