We partnered with Girls Who Code for the 6th summer in a row to host the Summer Immersion Program (SIP)! SIP is a 2-week virtual program that teaches girls—trans and cis—and non-binary students the computer science skills needed to impact their community while preparing for a tech career. Twenty one employee volunteers from the Kate Spade New York and Tapestry e-commerce, engineering and coding teams, as well as broader tech and digital teams came together to share advice, insights, and experiences working in the Fashion Tech and Digital Space with fifty rising junior and senior high school students in the program. The Kate Spade New York Foundation has proudly supported Girls Who Code since 2016. Check out what we have been up to during #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth: - With The Mental Health Coalition, we launched a guide for women on Mental Health & Wellbeing. - We partnered with Mine'd, an app that provides live and recorded sessions from experts in the mental health and personal and professional development spaces, to sponsor content for women during May. Starting in June, all of our employees will have free access to the app! - We hosted Mine’d co-founder Mark Groves, a human connection specialist and founder of the podcast Create the Love, to our internal speaker series, The Joy Jar Podcast, where he shared his wisdom and insights around the close tie relationships and boundaries have to our overall mental wellbeing. - Over the next 6 months, we are offering Mental Health First Aid training courses to our employees through the National Council for Mental Health.

We recently hosted our annual #onpurpose fundraisers virtually in North America, the UK and Japan, raising over $69,000 and surpassing our fundraising goal! These funds will go towards providing women’s and girl’s empowerment programming in the community of Masoro, Rwanda, where our #onpurpose supplier is based. With events ranging from bingo to swing dance and flower arranging to yoga class and hula hoop contests, we had a blast and generated over 300+ volunteer hours. A big thank you to our volunteer team captains for organizing these events, and to our leaders and employees who participated in the activities and silent auctions! To celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth, we partnered with the The Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York (LESGC), whose mission is to inspire Joy, Power and Possibility. They have been a partner of ours and the Kate Spade New York foundation since 2019. We welcomed Ebonie Simpson, co-executive director for LESGC, to speak with our hosts Tri and Trey about mentoring, leadership, and health and wellbeing in the second episode of our monthly âKate Spade presents: Letâs Talkâ series. We also worked with LESGC to create a âshe isâ mural at their Center for Wellbeing and Happiness in NYC. It features empowering handwritten âshe isâ statements from Girls Club members that highlight positive attributes of themselves or a woman they admire. For #InternationalWomensDay on March 8th, we launched a social donation campaign around the mural, ending March 31st! Check it out on our Twitter and Instagram channels, re-post it, tag a women who inspires you, using the hashtag #sheIS and #LoveInSpades, and we will donate a dollar to LESGC, through the Tides Foundation (up to a maximum donation of $25k).

This organization was selected by our employee task force in support of advancing the non-profit's mission. North America employee donations to organizations in support of racial, social and economic justice for the Asian community will be matched through our Foundation matching gift programs. We stand taller together so let's lift each other up.
