Supporting organizations that provide for and empower our local community members is what our #wecare culture is all about. Today, our Limbach & Harper Limbach Tampa team had the opportunity to sponsor and attend The 32nd Annual Mabel H. Bexley Gift of Peace Lunch by The Spring of Tampa Bay. The Spring is the Department of Children and Families (DCF) certified Domestic Violence Center for Hillsborough County that helps victims of domestic violence rebuild their lives and raise awareness to prevent domestic violence from occurring. To get involved or learn more about how you can support The Spring, check out their website here: https://lnkd.in/eEg5yeru
At Limbach, we take pride in #creatinggreatopportunities for our people. From our learning and engagement training programs to encouraging our team members to go out and get involved with organizations and conferences that inspire them! Most recently, Limbach's Learning Program Manager, Gretel Swartz, M.Ed., had the opportunity to attend the Power Your Potential Montgomery County Women's Conference. We are excited to celebrate the first day of #constructioninclusionweek! Limbach is committed to holding ourselves #accountable for fostering diversity and creating an inclusive construction industry today, this week, and throughout the normal course of business all year long. How do we do it? We EMBRACE! Our EMBRACE forum represents all job titles, backgrounds, and experiences and is driving collaboration and conversations to Attract, Develop, Retain, and Promote diversity of thought and create an environment of belonging that includes everyone, from interns to field technicians to senior leaders.
As #HispanicHeritageMonth comes to a close, it was fantastic to see groups of all backgrounds coming together to celebrate unity and diversity here at Limbach, Harper Limbach, and Jake Marshall. From introducing UNIDOS, our Hispanic Employee Resource Group, to having an open discussion on the history and importance of this month, to hosting a family dance class and potluck to celebrate Hispanic culture. It's inspiring to see what can be accomplished when a group of passionate employees comes together to help create a more inclusive environment within our Company!
Why is generational diversity important? People of different ages offer different viewpoints, helping to increase innovation and creative problem-solving. In celebration of #constructioninclusionweek, Limbach employees discussed best practices and shared thought leadership during a Generational Inclusion Seminar led by Limbach's very own Learning & Engagement Program Manager, Gretel Swartz, M.Ed. and our EMBRACE forum chair, Alison Shea, CEM. A picture is worth a thousand words. While we were checking in with our employees after Hurricane Ian made its way through Florida, we could not get ahold of one of our service technicians who lives in Fort Myers. Once we finally connected with him, we realized he was without power but was still working and running service calls to our clients in need. With limited open gas stations, our tech's service van ran out of fuel, so Joe Gabor, Tampa's General Service Manager, took it upon himself to transport fuel down to him. Once Joe pulled into town, he soon realized our tech needed much more. The following morning, Tampa's Branch Manager, Erich Muensterman and Joe jumped in a truck and drove back down to Fort Myers to resupply his family with water, food, fuel, and other basic necessities. This is a prime example of our #wecare culture. A culture that looks out for one another, goes above and beyond for our clients, and is willing to put the safety and wellbeing of our employees above all else.
