We are delighted to welcome our first three summer 2023 interns to Mars & Co.’s New York area office today. Selina Sun is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School who earned her undergraduate degree in Economics and Marketing from Drexel University and worked as a Marketing Manager at American Express immediately prior to enrolling at CBS. Elizabeth Johnson is a rising Senior at Tufts University where she is majoring in Cognitive and Brain Science with minors in Computer Science and Engineering Management. At Tufts Liz is a member of the Varsity 8 crew and has been rower at Tuft for the past three years. Kyle Krell is a rising Senior at Tufts University where he is triple majoring in Mathematics, Political Science and Spanish. Kyle is a Varsity athlete at Tufts competing on Cross Country and Track & Field teams. We are very excited to have them on our team for the summer and wish them all tremendous success in working with our clients as we help them address interesting and challenging strategic/operational issues in their businesses.

We are delighted to have added four new members to the consulting team at Mars & Co.’s New York area office during the past few months: • Juan Gomez joined after completing the Applied Analytics program at Columbia Univ. and he previously earned a BBA from Univ. de Los Andes. • Clay Wooles joined following his graduation from INSEAD where he earned his MBA. He previously earned an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from The Univ. of Western Australia and worked in the engineering services industry before business school. • Geoff Farley graduated from Johns Hopkins Univ. with a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry and a BS in Chemistry from Pacific Union College. • Eric Bell started this week and he graduated from the Univ. of Pennsylvania where he majored in Philosophy, Politics and Economics while also minoring in Statistics at Wharton. Between college and Mars & Co Eric taught English in Chile. We are very excited to have them on our team and wish them tremendous success in working with our clients as we help them address interesting and challenging strategic/operational issues.
Our New York area office had an intimate fireside chat followed by a fun reception yesterday with the Chairman (and recently retired CEO) of one of our large industrial clients. It was great to hear his perspectives on careers and life as he and our COO talked about "Pivot Points and the Importance of Values-Based Leadership" followed by a highly enlightening and wide-ranging Q&A session with our consultants and staff. One of the benefits of working at Mars & Co is the opportunity for our consultants at all levels to work with and be exposed to client executives and industry leaders.

Our team says "au revoir" to Bruno Matos, a summer intern from Tuck Business School, who is heading back to school to finish his MBA. Bruno worked with a team staffed from both our SF and NY area offices helping a new client create a "Roadmap for Growth" in a B2B business. If anyone is interested in a strategy consulting internship with us next summer (or full-time opportunities) apply via your school's career development office.
Amanda, Jo and Julie at a "welcome breakfast" in our NY area office on 9/16/22. Although the breakfast was held in honor of Chris Mercadante (not pictured), a recent Notre Dame grad who started that day, Julie (who will start next month) came to the office to check things out, meet more of our team, attend a training event about a recently completed project and have lunch with some of our consultants while she was in NY looking for an apartment .
Goodbye and Hello. Today Mars & Co says farewell to Mattison Boveri who is heading back to the University of Pennsylvania to finish her Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering degree following the successful completion of her summer internship at our NY area office. We also welcome Daniel Mendoza, who joined us after his recent graduation from Yale School of Management where he earned his MBA, and Joaquin Riojas Zambrano who joined us following his graduation from Claremont McKenna College. Mattison had a key analytical role on a performance scorecard project for one of our major clients and was able to experience pretty much the complete life cycle of a strategy consulting project. She started her internship right after project kickoff and she saw it through to its completion – including a trip to the client’s global HQ plus a lot of virtual meetings. Daniel is already engaged on a supply chain strategy project for a global beverage company. Joaquin’s first project is in the automotive industry working with a team of consultants from our Paris, Shanghai and NY area offices.
