Mohegan Sun proudly hosted the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut's annual awards breakfast last week, where we were presented with the Chairman’s Award of Excellence. In 2023, we raised the highest total pledge amount in the history of our annual Giving Campaign with over $400,000 in pledge donations to the United Way. We are also a proud annual participant in the Tommy Toy Drive, and an on-line food drive, donating essential food items to the Gemma Moran United Way/Labor Food Center. We're extremely grateful for the recognition.
Each week Mohegan Sun selects a Team Member who goes above and beyond. Whether it is excellent guest service or someone going above and beyond, we reward our Team Members with a choice of lunch, gas, shows, or time off! Our Team Members do go above and beyond to ensure that our Guests (and Team Members) have the best experience while here on the property. We received a letter from a fellow Team Member requesting that we nominate Mark for his great attitude time and time again and he constantly has a great attitude toward other Team Members. During some technical issues, Mark assisted with Tracking, times, and places, and just went above and beyond to support another Team that was helping him - all while keeping a great attitude! Mark is the perfect example of what the Spirit of Aquai means to all of us here at Mohegan! Thank you, Mark!
Our Diversity, Our Strength! As a company, we are committed to providing opportunities to underrepresented groups, such as women and people of color. Through our collaboration with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), we are very proud to welcome our new Intern Jordan (right) from Delaware State University! Jordan, a scholar-athlete, is a Business Management major and will be working closely with our Director of Special Events Lauren Willard. Lauren has put together a comprehensive schedule to give Jordan an in-depth opportunity to be exposed to many areas while he is here with us. He will also work with Support Operations, Entertainment, and the Connecticut Sun! “I’m very thankful for the opportunity to be here! I’m excited to be the first of hopefully many HBCU students to come to Mohegan Sun!" says Jordan. Congratulations and Welcome, Jordan! We couldn't agree more!
Sportsbook Operations Manager Chris Diamond was the winner of our "First Pitch Contest" and recently threw out the first pitch at a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park. To win the contest Chris created a video explaining why he deserved to throw the first pitch. and he promised to bring his Team with him if he won. Before the game Chris's Team presented him with a special Mohegan Sun jersey for the occasion. Congratulations Chris!
