“Back of House Season 6 – Good Times for Everyone!” is a digital TV series highlighting behind the scenes moments of 10 hospitality professionals working at Mohegan Sun. This season an all-female cast and crew take viewers through their daily lives as Mohegan Sun Team Members, which provides direct insight into the Teams’ collaboration skills and strategic decision making. This season shows several highly anticipated events such as the return of Terrificon, the annual Asian Lion Dance ceremony, the resort’s 25 Year Anniversary, Miss America’s 100th Anniversary and finally, Mohegan Sun’s sister property, ilani, celebrating 5 years – reaching a major milestone in the construction of its new hotel.

On September 2nd, five Mohegan Sun Team Members went Over the Edge in support of Special Olympics CT. These brave employees rappelled down more than 30 stories from the top of the Sky Hotel Tower to the cheers of the crowd below. The Team Members raised over $6,000 for Special Olympics and each received special prizes which included Prize PTO, a photo of their rappel and an event t-shirt. Awesome job everyone!
Congratulations to the graduates of our Workplace English Class! Sixteen students learned vocabulary specific to their daily tasks including words related to handling guest requests, dealing with guest complaints, and explaining laundry procedures. In each class we listened to workplace situations, analyzed the meanings, and considered grammatical patterns. We role-played relevant job tasks and then morphed the situations to be more specific to the job experiences of the students. Pronunciation was corrected as necessary and practiced repeatedly. Class participation was high; students often worked in small groups or pairs at each session in dealing with real problems and solutions. All students showed increases from the pre-test given on the first class to the post-test (38 class hours later). Everyone who completed the class earned a $500 Bonus!
