NaphCare is proud to announce that Jason Douglas, NaphCare’s Chief Technology Officer, was recognized as one of Birmingham’s top C-Suite leaders in 2023 by the Birmingham Business Journal. The Birmingham Business Journal created this award to recognize Birmingham's best and brightest C-level executives. Nearly 20 years ago, Jason began his career with NaphCare as a software developer. He was hired to design a novel electronic health record (EHR) specifically for correctional healthcare, which ultimately became NaphCare’s industry-leading EHR and medical management system, TechCare. Understanding the important impact technology would play in correctional healthcare, NaphCare invested in building a dynamic tech team based in its Birmingham, AL, headquarters. As NaphCare grew its Technology Division, Jason rose through the ranks of leadership. Now, as Chief Technology Officer, Jason oversees the development of all software systems at NaphCare, including the architecture and implementation of TechCare. Jason’s ability to understand the complexities of correctional healthcare has allowed him to identify and apply technologies to streamline NaphCare’s Proactive Care Model and provide superior service to our partners. NaphCare was recently named one of Birmingham’s 2023 Best Places to Work by the Birmingham Business Journal. NaphCare earned third place in the extra-large category (250+ employees) of employers. NaphCare, along with other local businesses, was honored at an event on Thursday, May 11, and recognized in The Best Places to Work issue of the Birmingham Business Journal. Best Places to Work is the Birmingham Business Journal’s program to recognize employers who have gone above and beyond to develop exceptional workplace cultures. Each year, the Birmingham Business Journal surveys employees at companies throughout the city to gather their thoughts and perspectives on workplace culture. Employee responses from the anonymous survey, along with the number of employees who respond to the survey, are calculated to identify a company’s overall score and ranking. This was NaphCare’s first year to enter the Best Places to Work award program. Jennifer Miller, NaphCare’s Chief of Human Resources, attended the event to recognize all finalists and was honored to receive the Best Places to Work award on NaphCare’s behalf. “Thank you to all our team members who participated in the 2023 Best Places to Work survey,” said Miller. “We appreciate your commitment to NaphCare’s mission – to improve and save lives. It is the commitment and dedication of our team members that led NaphCare to be recognized as a 2023 Best Place to Work."
