In just one fiscal year (April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020), Novelis recycled 1.86 million metric tons of aluminum, saving 17.51 million metric tons of carbon. Novelis is proud to play a role in Nissan Motor Corporation’s sustainability journey. As part of their Green Program, Nissan announced their plans to achieve carbon neutrality across the company’s operations and the lifecycle of its products by 2050. Novelis recently collaborated with Nissan to establish their first closed-loop recycling system in North America for the 2021 Rogue.
Novelis is proud to have received the award for "Excellent Sustainability" as a result of a F.A.Z survey conducted with 21,000 companies. As a pioneer in aluminum recycling, we are working toward a more sustainable, circular business model by increasing the recycled content in our rolled aluminum products. Novelis HRC73A™ is an innovative pre-anodized product produced from an alloy comprised of 90% recycled content. It provides a permanent, brilliant metallic gloss and superior bending and non-combustible properties not found in other alloys. For the anodizing process, our partner, Almeco Group developed the latest technology treatment for re-using all process water, reducing water consumption by 90% compared to traditional processes. The coil-anodized product – ready for further processing – allows architects to create more compelling, sophisticated designs with a decreased environmental footprint.
