In celebration of Women's History Month this past March, we honored the incredible achievements and contributions of women throughout history and continue to do so today. Among the many trailblazers, we highlighted pioneers in the HVAC industry like Alice H. Parker, who patented a revolutionary central heating system using natural gas, and Margaret Ingels, who joined the American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers (now ASHRAE) in 1921 and conducted groundbreaking air conditioning research for six years. Here's to the innovators, trailblazers, and everyday heroes who continue to inspire us all.

Recently, a dedicated team from Petro Home Services stepped up to make a difference, joining Habitat for Humanity in Croydon, PA, for a transformative home rehabilitation project. Our team collaborated closely with Habitat for Humanity’s crew, tackling a range of essential tasks. The home's new owner, a single mother with two children, moved into it in May to begin a fresh chapter with her family. Thank you to everyone who helped!

Building community with Habitat for Humanity. Whether it's donating time, talent, equipment or funds, the Petro Home Services team always takes the opportunity to make a positive difference in the communities that we serve. Through a long-standing partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Petro has joined forces to help families create better lives through home ownership. Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. Families and individuals in need of help partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home, alongside volunteers from the local community and team members from companies like Petro. Petro teams participate in many Habitat for Humanity home builds and other initiatives in communities that we serve throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Over the years, the Petro team has also helped communities around the US get homes back up and running after major storms and natural disasters, by donating and installing HVAC systems and helping rebuild homes. ShiningStar – celebrating our team’s success stories. There’s some terrific work taking place at Petro Home Services and in our surrounding communities, all done by team members. In 2023 we launched a quarterly program to recognize and reward these outstanding contributions in a meaningful way – ShiningStar. A lot of companies acknowledge outstanding efforts simply with trophies but the ShiningStar program is a personalized approach that recognizes team members at all levels who exemplify one or more of our core values: Integrity – by interacting with honesty and respect towards colleagues and customers. Safety – by maintaining the highest standards for a safe and healthy workplace. Excellence – by setting and achieving goals to make team members and our company great. Community – by building positive relationships through outstanding service and involvement. Helping improve life for a retired homeowner in Hillside, NJ. On October 12, 2023, Petro Home Services team members from northern NJ were delighted to partner with Habitat for Humanity on a project to help a retired homeowner in Hillside, NJ get homeowners insurance and make their life and home more safe, secure and comfortable. Everyone enjoyed working throughout the day on various home improvement projects and the Petro team spent a lot of time replacing the fencing surrounding the home. The Petro team members who volunteered were Dennis Clemens, RayDiMaggio, Jose Mendoza, Doug Meshach, Dan Piezschella, Francisco Rua and Daniel Wlazlowski. Helping prevent hunger in Atlanta. On Thursday, May 25th, 2023, Petro Home Services team members joined the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help with their efforts to end hunger in the local community. Our team helped collect over 10,000 pounds of food which equates to providing 8,392 meals to help nourish our Atlanta neighbors in need. Our volunteer team included Judith Bastian, Jennifer Kardel, Kimberly King, Emanuel McIntyre, Liz Mills, Madisen Taylor and friends and family members Devin Randall, Jr. and Jackie Thigpen. Partnering with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity, Atlanta Community Food Bank works with more than 700 non-profit partners to distribute over eight million meals across metro Atlanta and north Georgia every month in their mission to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering the community. The Petro team was delighted to help the organization in their mission to end hunger in Atlanta. Thanks to everyone involved for their help.
