Our inaugural company-wide step challenge was a huge success! More than 760 employees participated and generated over 275,000 steps. At Pittcon 2019, @Mina Fakhary presented the results of a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography method that Pharmavite’s Analytical Services team (including Fang Xia, Minh Ly Le, Mohamed Koroma) developed to determine the levels of TMA in Omega-3 finished goods and raw materials. Trimethylamine (TMA) causes a strong fishy odor creating concern that it could be a source of rancidity in fish oil products and multivitamin softgels containing fish oil. Results from our scientist’s efforts show that there is no correlation between aged fish oil products rancidity and TMA level.
