One patient family said, “She was the best nurse we could have had and was a blessing when we needed it most. She truly cared for our daughter.”

Chris Lessner, a certified athletic trainer at Phoenix Children’s, was recently awarded Park University's BESPY award for staff excellence during their second annual Buccaneer’s Excellence in Sports Performance banquet. Chris serves as their head athletic trainer and was recognized for his dedication and efforts in helping establish and operate the university’s highly successful athletic training program.

Dr. Christina Conrad (right), a pediatric emergency medicine specialist, has been named medical director, and Theresa Asta (left), RN, MSN, CPEN, CPN, will serve as clinical manager of Phoenix Children's freestanding emergency department (ED) opening in Avondale in July 2023. The freestanding ED will be staffed with board-certified pediatric emergency medicine specialists with the necessary training and expertise to care for critically ill babies, kids and teens.
