One patient family said that Brittany always brightened up their mood and was always on top of things.

Taylor Headlough (left), registered nurse in our inpatient Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, received a DAISY award for providing above-and-beyond compassionate care to patients and families. One patient family said that Taylor far exceeded their expectations as she demonstrated remarkable care and compassion.

Several patient families nominated Nancy Walsh, registered nurse on the 9th floor of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, for a DIASY award. She has been recognized for providing outstanding care and service for orthopedic and trauma patients and their families. One patient family in particular said that Nancy was a source of joy during their visit to Phoenix Children’s.

Dr. Poonam Bhatia, medical director of the Tourette & Tic Disorder Clinic at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s, and her family were among the “Team AZ” members who took part in the Tourette Association of America Arizona chapter’s 5K Walk Run this past weekend. The event raised awareness, research funds and support for these nervous system conditions.

She has built a reputation for providing incredible, family-centric care for patients receiving hepatology, nephrology, neurosurgery, renal and transplant treatment. One patient family shared that Haley did a wonderful job communicating and explaining things in ways they could understand. She is a true patient advocate with much compassion!
