The teach-back method is so important when a family is just learning of a new diagnosis for their child. That's why over 10 years ago, Phoenix Children's Emily Center developed a concept to teach parents and families everything they need to know about their child's condition before they leave the Hospital—all using a journey board concept. From what used to be a paper-based tool, Phoenix Children's Journey Boards have steadily grown into 14 mobile apps that span multiple diagnoses and procedures with more apps on the way. Journey Boards Help Families Understand Complex Medical Information
We are very proud to share the American College of Surgeons (ACS) has re-verified Phoenix Children’s as a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center. This is a great accomplishment and reaffirms our commitment to the care of injured children. The re-verification confirms we meet all the standards set for Level 1 adult centers as well as pediatric centers. Level 1 is the top tier of verification the ACS bestows and is confirmation of the very highest level of #trauma care.
