      Director of Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital and Chief of Pediatric Surgery, Dr. P. David Adelson, recently spoke at the Instituto de Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia in Mexico City on the challenges and opportunities for collaborations in clinical and research education. His involvement represented a number of organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and of course, Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Congratulations and thank you, Dr. Adelson!

      Dr. David Notrica, Medical Director of our Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center of Excellence, gave the opening keynote address at the Mexican Congress of Pediatric Surgeons in Pediatric Trauma, recently in Cancun, Mexico. The Congress was the 51st annual meeting of the Mexican College of Pediatric Surgery with the Mexican Society of Pediatric Surgery and was a combined meeting with the Iberoamericano Society of Pediatric Surgery which includes all of South and Central America. The Congress was attended by several hundred surgeons from around the world. Dr. Notrica also gave a lecture on #pectus repair, including a 20-year review of the modifications to the #Nuss procedure. Congratulations, Dr. Notrica!

      Speech-language pathologists, students and related medical professionals, this course is for you! Mark your calendars for Friday, October 26 at the Goldman Auditorium at @BarrowNeurological in Phoenix, AZ. In the course, we’ll review speech-language pathology services including feeding, early intervention, assessment of articulation and resonance skills, and speech therapy techniques for patients with cleft lip and palate.
