Our Digital Business Solutions (DBS) team have announced the official opening of the employee TechDeck at our downtown Winston-Salem, NC headquarters building with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new state-of-the-art service center is designed to foster technical excellence, efficient help, and customer trust, marking a significant step forward in our journey to elevate our employees’ digital experiences. The opening ceremony included remarks from Aaron Gwinner, our Chief Information Officer, and Javed Iqbal Syed, Director of Digital Information at BAT, who reaffirmed our commitment to enhancing the employee technology experience and emphasized intentions to use TeckDeck as a blueprint for future expansions at BAT facilities across the globe. Congrats to the DBS team on this incredible achievement!
We are pleased to announce that Juan M. Palacios is returning to Reynolds as Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this role, he will serve on the Reynolds American Leadership Team and represent the organization in global BAT Group Strategy stewardship. Juan first joined Reynolds in 2006, spending 13 years with the company before transitioning to the global BAT Mergers & Acquisitions team on an international assignment in the UK. In 2023, he became Managing Director of Ventures for the Group’s Btomorrow Ventures (BTV). Juan will continue his role at BTV alongside this role. His experience and expertise well equip him to lead our Business Development team, identifying opportunities aligned with the organization’s long-term vision and A Better Tomorrow purpose. We are pleased to announce that we have been named a recipient of the 2024 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards in the Environmental Initiative Award category by SEAL Awards for the Reynolds WaterHub project under construction at the Reynolds Operations Center in Tobaccoville, NC. This award recognizes our demonstration of strong water stewardship through constructing this advanced water recycling facility at our largest manufacturing facility, in collaboration with NextEra Energy Resources, which is expected to reclaim over 60 million gallons of water each year. We are proud to join the NACS Foundation and other convenience store suppliers and retailers by donating to the American Red Cross in support of #247Day. This day, held each year on July 24, helps raise awareness and donations for the Red Cross and spotlights the convenience store industry’s important role in supporting disaster relief and crisis situations. Our donation serves as a thank you to the first responders, medical and emergency professionals, and volunteers who are there for our communities during times of need. #GiveBack
