"...a lot of the advertising that's out there today shows seniors sailing and golfing—and yes, they do these things—but, when it comes to their experience of health insurance, it's not always positive...And I think we have an obligation to showcase that and to let people know that we see them and that we hear them, and to validate their experience." SCAN's Chief Marketing Officer Nishant Shukla shares the importance of acknowledging the frustrating realities older adults face around Medicare in SCAN's new ad campaign and SCAN's commitment to fighting to fix it. "...we're done with the toxic positivity of U.S. healthcare," said SCAN CEO Dr. Sachin Jain. "We see where it's led us." 🌈🏡 SCAN is proud to support the Los Angeles LGBT Center with a grant of $125,000 that helps fund free legal services for LGBTQ+ older adults. This funding, which goes towards the Silver Linings: Housing Protections and Resources for LGBT Seniors program, enables the delivery of vital legal information and resources to empower LGBTQ+ seniors to stay housed and better navigate housing issues. LGBTQ+ seniors deserve to age with dignity and security within their homes and we're proud and grateful for the Los Angeles LGBT Center's partnership in helping us make that possible.

"The front door to the Medicare experience is one that needs to be totally rebuilt. Turning 65 in this country is very complicated...it's because you have to sign up for Medicare, you've got to sign up for part B. It's an alphabet soup for the average older adult who feels paralyzed in the face of decision making." SCAN CEO Dr. Sachin Jain addresses the complexities in healthcare for America's seniors during the House Ways and Means Committee’s joint subcommittee hearing on “Medicare Advantage: Past Lessons, Present Insights, Future Opportunities.” Watch the video segment as he shares his perspective on: - How value-based care has largely been a failed experiment in the U.S. - How multi-year enrollments in MA can offer stability and better health technology integration - The importance of transparency and simplification in healthcare To view his full written testimony, visit: https://waysandmeans.house.gov/event/joint-subcommittee-hearing-on-medicare-advantage-past-lessons-present-insights-future-opportunities/
