Talbert House is committed to providing work life balance for staff and offers exceptional paid time off (PTO) benefits. PTO comes in 4 main forms at Talbert House: holidays, vacation, personal, and sick time. We also provide paid time off for jury duty, military duty and bereavement. The U.S. federal government does not require employers to provide PTO. Yet, American employers typically offer 5 - 15 days of PTO per year. Still, millions of Americans work without any paid vacations or holidays. Based on data and surveys from BLS and other sources, Talbert House offers substantially higher PTO benefits than the average US employer. US employers offer an average of 25.6 paid time off days/year (vacation time, personal days, sick time and holidays). Talbert House offers 32.5 to 42.25 days/year based on tenure. Our policy gives staff their choice of holidays based on personal preference. Full and part-time staff are eligible to accrue PTO with every paycheck. We also provide an emergency PTO bank, annual rollover and conversion of unused sick time to vacation or personal time.

In addition to monitoring the local 281-CARE /Crisis Hotline, Talbert House will soon begin fielding calls from all over Ohio as part of a national program. The aim is to establish a nationwide mental health hotline similar to 911. Chief Clinical Officer Brad McMonigle says Talbert House is currently staffing in preparation for increased call volume, but that staffing in general has been difficult due to substantially increased need.
