The Wenger Group is a strong supporter of the local fire departments that surround our facilities, and in turn, local departments sometimes use our mills for training exercises. Three fire companies—Lykens, Sacramento, and Gratz— came on site on Monday April 15th to conduct a walkthrough of the Spring Glen Mill and grounds.

This year for Earth Day, some Wenger Group volunteers including Doug Bachert, Bailey Boyd, Sean Cramer, Brenna Lopez Marrero, Joanne Nace, Chris Rahn, and Jen Varano went over to Drager Dairy Farm in Marietta, PA. The Drager farm is working with Lancaster Farmland Trust and Trees for Grazers to create “silvopasture” for their beef cattle. Once the trees mature, they will provide shade for the animals as well as create a stronger biomass to prevent runoff from the fields into waterways.
