Giving back is central to what we do here at UW Credit Union. One way we support that mission is by offering employees up to 16 hours of paid time off for volunteering in the local community. In 2022, our employees volunteered 1,596 hours with 96 different organizations! Way to go, team – bring on a new year of giving back!

Evan Bruns Lending Specialist III at UW Credit Union shares about UW Credit Union's Community Giving Campaign This year I had the amazing opportunity to be an Employee Campaign Manager for UW Credit Union's Community Giving Campaign. Every year UW Credit Union dedicates several weeks in October to raising funds and awareness for United Way and Community Shares of Wisconsin. As one of the three Employee Campaign Managers I got to organize and plan the campaign from the ground up. Our primary focus this year was to host a giving campaign that was equitable and educational for all of our employees to have the ability to participate in events across a growing footprint and a new hybrid work environment. We were able to host numerous fundraising, volunteer, and educational events both in person and virtually. This was hands down the most rewarding and exciting thing I have been able to take part in during my time at UW Credit Union and this absolutely goes to show that UW Credit Union lives their core values! #community #givingbacktothecommunity #iwork4uwcu
Cailley Hammel Social Media Engagement & PR Specialist at UW Credit Union shares and exciting opportunity with Chucky Hepburn An exciting development at work recently: I’m diving into the world of #SocialMedia influencing! We recently had the opportunity to work with Chucky Hepburn, one of the stars of the UW-Madison men’s basketball team – and UW Credit Union member, of course 😉 – for a photoshoot, interview and TikTok recording session. Here’s a peek behind the scenes. And if you’re curious how that TikTok turned out, take a look here: www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRxJ8jD3 #SocialMediaInfluencer #IWork4UWCU
Veronica Gutierrez/Bilingual Loss Prevention Specialist attends Big Bright Minds This last week I got to crash Big Bright Minds and it was life changing. Throughout the year I got to learn a little more about each center of excellence and this event really solidified that the credit union movement is invested into helping people. I am overwhelmed with ideas but feeling more motivated than ever to make a difference in my community. This opportunity would have never been possible without the support of UW Credit Union who really lives up to “foster continuous learning”. I am also very grateful for all the wonderful human beings in the credit union movement that I got to meet! #creditunions
Paul Kundert/President and CEO meets with Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin Really enjoyed meeting University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin at UW Credit Union's student union branch. We talked about our credit union's 91-year campus history, partnership, and shared values. Our 320,000 members today represent generations of students that discovered a financial partner committed to their financial wellbeing, and that is still "Here for Every You". On Wisconsin! #iwork4uwcu #uwmadison #madisonwi #badgers #bigten #creditunion #creditunions
June is Pride Month June is LGBT Pride Month, celebrated around the world each year, marking the anniversary of the NYC Stonewall Riots of 1969. Those riots helped raise awareness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender oppression and started the process of making the world a better place for people of all sexuality and gender expressions. At UW Credit Union, our SAGA employee group and the credit union as a whole wish to acknowledge the spirit of Pride month. We will be flying the Progressive Pride Flag from our corporate office for the entire month of June.
